Seamless integration of our sensor to your intranet for full control of devices.

The Quantum RF* Asphaltene Analyzer can be programmed to communicate via traditional oilfield data channels such as Modbus, but this is not the optimum solution for clients. By building on more advanced protocols a much more sophisticated solution can be offered such as shown in the figure. Raw data is transmitted to the cloud from embedded industrial Linux system using secure HTTPS protocols and advanced machine learning algorithms can extract key value from that raw data. That data can then be made available to dashboards on both MicroSilicon and client systems.
With this configuration, MicroSilicon can also offer a service of continuous diagnostic monitoring, alert for data anomalies etc. It also allows MicroSilicon to update software as operator requirements change. All of this is accomplished without opening any ports for external attack.
The bulk of the communication outbound is on MQTT port via :1883 and there is UDP communication on :53 for DNS and :123 for NTP. There are also outbound UDP comms on ports :5959 through :5970 which are used exclusively by our Remote.IT platform to allow SSH communication to the box for software maintenance.
As befits a cloud-based platform, significant attention is placed on data security and we routinely pass security audits, penetration tests, etc, as requested by our customers. For example, web access from the user to our Cloud Run applications is subject to TLS 1.2 or 1.3 security (nothing lower accepted). With regard weaker TLS 1.2 ciphers (e.g., RC4, 3DES) these are also disabled by our Google Frontend. Only strong cipher suites (AES-GCM, CHACHA20) are negotiated, which aligns with recomendations from NIST SP 800-52 Rev.2, PCI DSS v4.0, OWASP Transport Layer Protection guidelines, and IETF RFC 8996.
About MicroSilicon
MicroSilicon is the world's innovation leader for real-time fluid characterization using electromagnetic and
quantum chemical technology at the wellhead and for which they won, or have been nominated for, multiple industry awards, including Rice
Alliance Startup, SPE ATCE Best-in-Show, World Oil (twice), iChemE, ADIPEC (twice) and most recently S&P Global Energy.
They are now developing a range of flow assurance products and services as well as miniaturization of downhole sensing
microchips.
